Design story

CocoonZen™ draws on cultures where warmth is kept as an appointment — the Nordic sauna hour, the long Japanese bath — where heat is less an event than a scheduled way of doing nothing. The blanket borrows the shape of that ritual: warm up, be still, cool down slowly. The name says the rest; it is a cocoon you zip yourself into on purpose.

Materials & details

The blanket is a flexible synthetic shell with infrared heating zones distributed through the body, closed by a front zipper and controlled from a corded controller where you set temperature and session time. It runs on mains power and folds flat for storage.

How to use

Lay the blanket flat on a bed or sofa, slide in wearing lightweight long sleeves, long bottoms and socks, and zip up. Start modestly: 20 minutes somewhere in the 40–50°C range is a sensible first session, working up the dial only as far as you enjoy. Deep warmth makes most people perspire, so lay a towel inside, keep water within reach, and shower or change afterwards. The inner surface gets genuinely hot at the top of the range — always keep a layer of clothing or a towel between your skin and the blanket, and turn the temperature down if it ever feels too warm. Stay awake and attentive during sessions; this is not a sleeping bag. Not intended for use over broken or irritated skin.

Care & maintenance

Unplug the blanket and let it cool completely before putting it away. Wipe the inner surface with a damp cloth and mild soap after each session, dry it thoroughly, and fold loosely rather than creasing it hard along the same lines. Never machine-wash, soak or iron the blanket, and never fold or store it while warm.
