DawnZen™ draws on northern winters, where mornings begin long before the sun and households have learned to make their own dawn. The form is a simple bedside lamp with a wide, diffused glow — inspired by the idea that the first light you see should arrive gradually, the way a window brightens.

Materials & details

A diffused lamp face spreads the light softly rather than throwing a hot spot; behind it sit the dual alarms, the FM radio, the speaker for the wake sounds and the nightlight electronics. Controls cover alarm times, ramp, light color, brightness and sound; the Bluetooth App model adds smartphone control of the same features.

How to use

Set your wake time and choose how early the light should start building, then pick what ends the ramp — a natural wake sound or FM radio. In the evening, run the sunset mode while you read; the light dims down on its own. Use the dimmable nightlight for low light after dark. DawnZen™ sits happily about an arm's length away on the nightstand, facing the pillow.

Care & maintenance

Dust the lamp face with a soft, dry cloth, and unplug the clock before wiping anything more thoroughly. Keep drinks on the other side of the nightstand, and do not drape fabric over the lamp while it is running.

You set the alarm; DawnZen™ starts brightening ahead of it, so by your wake time the room is lit and the sound arrives as a finishing touch rather than a surprise. It is a mechanical change to the morning — gentler input, same schedule.

What is the difference between the two models?

The Standard model is controlled on the unit itself. The Bluetooth App model has the same light and alarm features with smartphone control added. Both are the same price.

Can I use it as a regular lamp?
