Design story

MistZen™ draws on the finishing ritual of makeup rooms and Korean skincare counters, where a fine veil of water is the last, almost ceremonial step — a way of telling the face you are done fussing over it. We looked for a device that kept that gesture intact: small, quiet, and fine-misting enough to feel like weather rather than spray.

Materials & details

The body is a smooth, palm-sized plastic shell in white with blue accents, built around a refillable water tank and a metal micro-mesh atomising plate — a grid of microscopic openings that vibrates to turn water into mist without any heat. The clear face-misting hood attaches over the mist outlet for hands-free use. Power comes from a built-in rechargeable battery.

How to use

Fill the tank with clean water, hold the outlet 15–20 cm from your face, close your eyes and mist for 20–30 seconds — or attach the clear hood, rest your face toward it and take a hands-free pause. Use it as often as your skin enjoys: morning before moisturiser, midday over makeup, evening after cleansing. Use plain water only; oils and thick essences can clog the micro-mesh. Not intended for use over broken or irritated skin.

Care & maintenance

Empty the tank after each day of use and let the device air-dry with the tank open. Distilled or purified water keeps the micro-mesh clear; if the mist weakens, run a tank of distilled water through the device and wipe the mesh area gently with a soft, dry cloth. Wipe the shell with a dry cloth, and do not submerge the device.
